This year I didn’t have the company of Chicago Car Life with me at the Chicago Auto Show. There are several challenges when shooting at an auto show. The crowd, even on media day, the positioning of the cars, and the lighting.

The lighting is always the biggest challenge. You can always wait for the crowd to pass by, you can always do your best to get the right shot if you position yourself, but the lighting… it’s always the challenge.

After being frustrated from the lighting, I decided to go a lot darker on my images. I felt that If I couldn’t get away from the glare, or match the exact color of the car, I would just go dark on the exposure and hope that the lines get accentuated.

Let me know if you think my method worked!
