The Carlson-Staudenmaiers

Anne, Mike, Sofia, Nico, and Malcolm (plus Glacier and Virgil):  two teachers and three students fighting for bandwidth and bathroom time, but otherwise feeling very fortunate in this crisis.

Anne

I became very close to the Carlson-Staudenmaiers for so many reasons. When I first started at CPS as a teacher assistant, Anne was teaching E2 (4th – 6th grade). A few years in, her daughter Sofia transferred into my classroom. I saw so much potential in Sofia, I wanted to try my best for her to see it in herself. We spent a lot of time joking around and having fun while still learning. Seeing her grow at school was always so amazing to see.

I always enjoyed the conversations I would have with Mike after school in the playground while I was waiting to finish my shift to finish. Our conversations varied from music to politics, to social identities.

One of the most difficult parts of doing the social distancing portraits is only spending a few minutes catching up with everyone. I really miss seeing the Carlson-Staudenmaiers, and only getting a few minutes of time with them is never enough.
