While doing a photoshoot in Bridgeport, we happen to run across Hal. Hal has been doing woodworking for over 20 years. Originally from Bloomington, Indian, he lives in Chicago with his wife who is a fashion designer.
We discussed some of the challenges of the economy post 2008 and now with Covid-19. It was impactful to hear all the different challenges that a small business owner has.
I had a great time talking to Hal. He is such a kind person. Hal’s main focus is creating custom furniture, in which much of his inspiration is drawn from his love of history and his desire for beauty and comfort. He is drawn to the balance and style of Medieval woodworking brought forward in time in the Arts and crafts movement of the Twentieth Century.
