During this quarantine, the family Mendez-Martinez have been learning together, playing board games, and watching movies. Miguel and Eli have been together for 10 years, and they been supporting each other since then. They have two boys Miguel Armando, and Santiago. Miguel A. loves video games just like his dad and Santiago loves playing with Playdoh and watching Pocoyo.
Miguel
Both Miguel and I are recipients of the DFI Fellowship. Though Miguel transferred to Loyola, I was able to meet him when we went to a conference together at Northern Illinois University. Though we were there for less than two days, we had a ton of fun going to different seminars and hanging out during the short amount of free time we were allotted.
We have stayed in touch since then. It is great to get updates about him and his life. He just recently graduated with his Master’s from Loyola. I am excited to see where his life takes him. My guess is that he will become a brilliant professor and author.
