I’m a Motor-City native currently living in the land of beer and cheese, aka Wisconsin. I am also a self-proclaimed coffee and ink pen connoisseur, whatever that means. I always thought the story I would write about my life would be relatively boring and straightforward—another cookie-cutter story. It’s been anything but straightforward, though. Standing on the precipice of one more huge change in life, I’ve found myself anchored by friends, family, and my ENLACE cohort. Our cohort is studying higher education leadership at NEIU and seeing the way all of us are learning and growing into these badass future leaders has been a constant source of encouragement throughout one of the more trying years I’ve experienced as an adult. If you have to experience a hard time and quarantine though, the land where the beer and cheese flow is a solid place to do it, though.
