Nora was born and raised on Chicago’s far South Side, educated on its near West Side, bought her first house way West Side, and now lives on the far Northwest Side, so she feels like the entire city is her neighborhood. She has taught high school English in Chicago for 22 years to students from every corner of the city, too.
The shutdown means not seeing her city or her students, but she has stayed in contact with both as best she can.
She also teaches children to hit each other on roller skates, and she misses that, too.
