I had the opportunity to work with A.M. Abernathy, also known as She Pains in Pink, to create a portrait that she will use to promote her work. I wanted to add some depth and dimension to the photo, while also showing off her work.
I wanted to show off her work without being too distracting. We decided to hang a few of her pieces from the ceiling. I tried to use fishing line to hide it as much as possible. We also wanted to incorporate natural lighting, along with the windows her studio. It took a moment to understand how to balance the two. More of the challenge was me forgetting some basic lighting techniques. Once I realized how to correct the situation, the rest of the photo shoot went smoothly.
