On July 6th, I had the opportunity to photograph Connections for the Homeless’ panel discussion on zoning and housing insecurity in Evanston and the greater North Shore community.

The event brought together experts, organizers, and community members for a thoughtful conversation about the complex challenges around zoning and housing. Panelists shared historical context, highlighted current barriers, and explored what can be done to address housing insecurity in our region.

The room was filled with engaged participants eager to listen, learn, and think about solutions. It was an important reminder of the role dialogue and community involvement play in shaping equitable housing policies.

These are a few moments I captured from the event—conversations, expressions, and connections that carried the weight of both the challenges and the hope for progress.
