This past weekend, I had the privilege of photographing a truly unique event hosted by La Brocha, a nonprofit supporting Latinos and their families in the Chicagoland area who are navigating memory loss diseases.

Rather than unveiling a finished design, La Brocha invited their community to co-create their new logo. Participants gathered in small groups to share ideas about color, symbols, and typography—discussing what would best reflect the organization’s heart and mission. The room buzzed with creativity, collaboration, and thoughtful conversation as every voice was welcomed into the process.

From the laughter around brainstorming tables to the quiet focus of sketching and sharing, the event was a celebration of identity, culture, and belonging. My role was to capture those moments—the gestures, expressions, and connections that tell the story of a community shaping its own visual voice.

These are some of my favorite frames from the day.
