Jennifer, Vincenzo, Sofia and our maltipoo Louie. Jennifer is fortunate to be able to work from home and is enjoying being able to be at home more. We’re just getting through this pandemic one snack at a time.
Jennifer, mother
For the people that know me, you know that I don’t have the best luck in the world. No, I don’t think of it as a negative, it’s just something that I’m aware of. I’m continually finding myself in challenging situations.
When I first started at AT&T, I would get the craziest calls. Calls that were definitely above my pay grade. But, I would always try to do my best to solve them. We had a help desk that we could call. Every time I called, I would ask them what they were doing so that way I wouldn’t have to call again.
Jenny often got my calls. because she was on a different floor, I never really met her only heard her voice when she was helping me. One day, one of my calls was just completely insane. I kept apologizing to her, telling her that I was sorry that the account was so messed up.
After trying to explain the situation for over 10 minutes, she finally said: “I’ll be right down.” As I’m waiting, I see this very pregnant woman walking towards me. I started apologizing twice as much as I was before.
Jenny was so cool about it. She was such a champ. She just laughed it off as if it was nothing. That’s what she looked at the account, she completely agreed that it was insane. This put me at ease.
After that hot mess, Jenny and I became very good friends. We got lunch together way too many times. Our friendship group, and now I feel like I’m part of her family. I have watched both her kids grow up. Every once in a blue moon I would get some random phone calls about helping with math problems. Now both of them are on the verge of going to college!
