I decided to try out how well the D750 works in monochrome mode. With it switched to black and white, I kept switching on the Active D-Lighting setting on the camera. I did not really know what Active D-Lighting was, especially with the monochrome setting. According to the Nikon website:
“Active D-Lighting optimizes high contrast images to restore the shadow and highlight details that are often lost when strong lighting increases the contrast between bright and dark areas of an image.”
Personally, I preferred the Active D-Lighting turned off. I’ll try to do a post specifically on Active D-Lighting to get and give a better perspective on the setting.
