This weekend marked the soft opening of Scissor & Fork, a space created to reimagine what a neighborhood salon can be. Blending professional, inclusive hair services with a thoughtfully curated café, the concept invites guests into an environment designed around comfort, accessibility, and connection.

At the heart of the salon’s mission is a focus on textured and curly hair. By centering services that have often been underrepresented in traditional salons, Scissor & Fork addresses a long-standing gap in inclusive hair care while creating a welcoming experience for a broader range of clients.

Alongside the salon, the café offers quality coffee and pastries that complement the atmosphere of the space. Guests can enjoy a relaxed setting to gather with friends, work remotely, or simply unwind while visiting the salon.
More than a dual-concept business, Scissor & Fork is designed as a “third space,” a place beyond home and work where community can come together. The soft opening offered a first look at how the salon and café work in harmony to create an inviting hub for the neighborhood.

We had the opportunity to photograph the event and capture the energy of the space, the details of the design, and the connections forming among guests experiencing Scissor & Fork for the first time.
