From the Northeastern Illinois University website:
Shencheng Xu has had numerous solo and group exhibitions and completed over a dozen outdoor monumental sculptures both in the United States and in China. He uses a variety of media and techniques in his works, both traditional and contemporary. His works were published in “Sculpture” and several other art periodicals.
Shencheng Xu’s current work is focused on combining human forms with other organic forms to express the relationship between nature and man. He is developing a language of forms that can be used in various combinations to create visual stories. These forms are the key components of his sculptural installations. The forms he has chosen is integral to the concepts. His work considers the differences between East and West as well as the differences between traditional and contemporary art.

Professor Xu needed new photos so that he could submit some of his sculpture work to a festival in China. We took these pictures at Northeastern Illinois University’s Art Department.
