Layal

Layal sheltering in place in her home in Oak Park.

Born in Kuwait, Layal, who is half Palestinian and half Lebanese, escaped war to come to Chicago as a child. She considers herself multicultural, American, and a humanist. She loves cats, coffee, and sushi.

Layal Alsaad

Layal and I bond over music festivals, multicultural conversations, and deep conversations about intersectionality. I always appreciate the conversations that we have, even when they get heated, and the small adventures we have gone on throughout Chicago’s art scene.
